I called Dave about a pair of Eimac 3-500 z tubes he has listed in Ad # 477103. I asked him for the date codes on the tubes or on the boxes if the were sealed . After a few weeks he came back and said the pair of boxes were marked 8829 . I negotiated a price of $ 360.00 with him for the pair thinking i was getting what the ad says " 3-500z -pair new in Eimac boxes " . When they arrived I found the boxes open , one tube a 8513 and one tube a 8933. When I contacted him he said that He had taken this pair of tubes from plastic containers from an estate and put them in the Eimac boxes. When i asked him why he led me to think i was getting a pair of tubes new in the Eimac boxes that I had asked the manufacture date of , i got back a one word reply " Please " It looks as both tubes were installed at one time as both have socket marks on the pins. Even if they are both brand new as he says , i beleive his ad is totally deceptive and i was stupid enough to be totally deceived. If anyone thinks i am wrong to think that ; please let me know. WATCH OUT IF YOU BUY FROM THIS GUY > IT MOST LIKELY WILL NOT BE AS STATED > HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE GAVE ME THE DATE CODES AND USED OTHER TUBES Some editor of the Collins magazine If anyone requests I have the ad ( which is still on ) and all e-mails

During the course of this deal it comes to light that an honest mistake may have been made on the tubes that were put in the boxes. Regardless , W3ST Dave has come thru with the offer of a full refund or adjustment. Not wishing to chase tubes here anymore i have accepted the adjustment, which constitutes a satisfactoey deal in the end. i am making a new post with his call to let others see this as the may not read all replies. I beleve this to be the only fair thing to do.
