Received a reply for a item I have FS. Person named Bruce Ruben
used my QRZ email instead of QTH system.
Told to reply with a Call sign and use QTH system.
Wants to send a "cashiers check". Also wanted it sent Express mail.
Had that once before from a scammer.

Bruce Ruben tried that with me the other day. E-mailed me at 3:15am asking about mobile radio I have up for sale. He's not licensed as either ham or gmrs (checked FCC License Search) Has the same MO as Lawrence Froehlich so it is possibly him just changing name.

Bruce Ruben is definitely a SCAMMER!
I received a message from him answering my ad in QTH on 9/15/2025
He wrote " I will issue out a cashier's check as a means of payment and when it clears your bank, I will arrange with a shipper to come for the pickup right after that OR i add up some $ {money} for you to help me ship it via Post office Priority mail ,so I will need your full name and a mailing address where the check will be sent to Am located here is Florida"

BEWARE!

This guy tried to scam me too. Same M.O. "I will send you extra money, ship it right away, BLA, BLA, BLA"
Bad English, poor spelling. Didn't even ask about price.
I didn't fall for it, Neither should you!!

Hi POPEYEBOB. Yes he is up to his old tricks. What he's doing now is watching the posts. He will message someone using his dumb scam tactics then he'll hide for a bit when people are posting about him. So he thinks the coast is clear but in reality it's not.
