this is to let the other hams know this amp worked perfect when it was shipped.this amp was not doa as he said. first email he said it was arching and had been for a long time this is a lie i never had any problems with this amp . every email he sent indicated to me he did not know what he was doing when he assembled the amp. now steve it will be a cold day in hell before i pay you $500.00 for another tube . i have always had a good reputation on this site . so i will let the others judge my reply. as far as winston goes i sold this amp for a older ham if you want a new amp for a low price you want find it on a webb padge. i suggest both of you buy new eqpt. from now own. then you can bitch at them. i will not reply anymore to these false tales you 2 have been putting on the webb padge. looks like all yall have to do is complain . this is my first and last reply to all that has been brought up about the amps.
Danny, I have been a ham for over 30 yrs and built at least 15 or 20 amps, from kits as a kid when I first started, let alone I ran a repair shop and installed and repaired hundreds of rigs, and you think I cant put in the tubes and install a transformer??When I e-mailed you that it was doa,.I offered to take a pix with my digital camera of the bolt that the wire had disclolored from the arching it had done. I only keyed it for a few milliseconds and then turned it off and found the problem. The bolt wouldnt be so dicolored that it was oxidized from having the coating burnt off ot it. THAT takes time and doesnt just happen. IT WAS DOA,
If you are so Honest as you say then why did you tell me it was 3 yrs old when it fact it is 5 yrs old??? doesnt seem like a big deal except they have made changes in the dieign.Didnt you think that there might be something wrong with the plate voltage reading about 300 to 400 volts low????
You told me it put out full power to specs...it DID not. in your only reply to date you siad, well it puts out legal limit.THATS not what i asked and a far cry from full output to specs.
If you are so honest, then once you got the money why wont you take my phone calls.YOu have not taken one phone call from me once you got the money and I recieved the amp.
YOu are NOt honest and in my opiniion, from my expereincxe and after talking to the guy you bought the amp from and you not disclosing to me all the repairs that had been done on it,YOUare not only dishonest, you wont confront me because you are wrong.
and isnt it funny that you screwed 2 of us in the same week, both on amps.
The 500 bucks doenst mean much to me, its the principle and I hope people decide by the facts and think before buying anything from the likes of you.
