Beware WA4EV in Homestead, FL USA

Post by KF0B »

I sold WA4EV a Kenwood TS-2000LE. Packed it in factory double boxing, and shipped it via FedEx Ground.

It was delivered. He texted that the radio arrived in perfect condition and packed well.

Buyer paid via Paypal CC.

Two days after delivery I get a notice from PayPal of a chargeback from buyer.

Now funds are on hold.

Sending info to PayPal in support of my case.

SELLERS BEWARE!!!!

I know Eusebio WA4EV for many years. We have done several transactions like buy and sell radios and he never betrayed me in any aspect, he is been always very honest and explained with details what he was selling or buying.
He is a secure buyer, I trust him with my eyes closed.
I suspect that behind this story there is something wrong that is not been told yet.
In any story we have to know from both sides what happend so lets wait for Eusobio to explain why he did not like or refused to pay that radio.
Don"t judge him yet.

Kurt ( KF0B ) certainly I wrote that I received well packed cause was well packed …. BUT you SCAM me the radio is not in mint condition and is not as described, just You are upset because I sent all info to the bank and them are the ones that placed the hold during the investigation, don’t lie because is not PayPal ! They can’t do anything cause you asked to send the money as a friend BTW the radio not only is altered also when warms becomes intermittent so no mint condition at all! As soon the bank release my funds I will send your radio in same packaging with insurance and track number.

As I wrotte before, there is always the other side of the story and we all know it now, a radio that was described in mint condition and after it arrived start failing intermitenly and that also was modified rise the fire on the buyer and react as Eusebio did. So I don't see anything wrong not paying for the item when its defective and by the way knowing Eusebio for many years he is not a "parts swapper" as some sellers sometimes refers to protect themselves as an excuse after sending radios with defects.
Money will be refunded after bank ends its investigation and case will be closed.
One advice although for the buyer, never use the mode "for a friend" when paying with PayPal, it will not allow you to resolve these issues and you will have to go to the bank making the resolution of the problem harder and longer, its better to pay few bucks more to PP for their service and the deal protection needed.

WA4EV yes texted me. Says the radio was modified to work on CB band (11 meters), so it’s illegal to use the radio and cannot be transmitted with on any frequency.

It’s actually incredible that an “extra class” HAM could believe such a thing from somebody. An extra class should know better.

He’s never heard of the MARS (Military Affiliate Radio Service) nor a factory authorized MARS mod that they published? Wow!

Anyway, I’m not the original buyer, I didn’t even know the XMIT was opened up. If he wants the original frequency all he has to do is replace a single diode. Any EXTEA CLASS ham should have this skill.

Anyway, WA4EV is a liar and untruthful.

He filed a claim for UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION with PayPal, referencing fraud.

It’s clear he saw the photos, liked the description, and decided to buy it from me. We were even on the phone together on a 3-way call with PayPal because he was having trouble.

So while he is claiming UNAUTHORIZED, it’s impossible. He just has buyers remorse.

WA4EV actually sent me a text message asking me to refund and return the radio. Told me he thought it was a different one he wanted.

Before I could even respond, he filed the chargeback. You just don’t do that to HAMS. EVER!

So it’s obvious to me that WA4EV is lying and dishonest in his UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION claim.

Could you ever trust him on anything? Like intermittent radio? Worked fine for me for years, no intermittent issues.

I have noticed and caught him on so many lies in this one transaction. Never trust him again.

I’m probably out the money and will never see my radio again either.
