For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.
I was scammed by someone claiming to be Chris R Harwood AA6AT. He used some correct Ham jargon, closing emails with "73" and appropriate use of some Q codes. Even sent my a picture of the FT891 boxed or shipping. As soon as I sent funds all contact broke. For what it is worth I do not believe this was the "Real AA6AT" just someone who stole his info.
I saw a Post for an 891 a few days earlier that disappeared fairly quickly. I had tried to contact the seller before I saw their add was gone. In retrospect it was worded so similar that I think it may have been the same person

Sorry for your loss .
need to save the emails and turn it in to your state police cyber crime divison. Also turn it in to the FBI in your State .
Its a cybercrime and even though you might not think they will do anything, it wont hurt to file a fed report since its across state lines ,a certain amount of money stolen is a federal crime.
